Throughout the week of January 25th, 2016, Barletta Heavy Division (BHD), MassDOT’s contractor for the Route 128 Add-a-Lane Bridge V project, will continue construction operations. Day shift work will be performed project-wide during both the standard working hours of 7:00AM to 3:00PM and during the third shift work hours of 7:00PM to 5:00AM.
- At Kendrick Street, work during the day will consist of installing retaining walls and prepping the west abutment footing. From Monday, January 25th to Tuesday, January 26th, work will focus on excavating the Kendrick pier. Following this procedure, from Wednesday, January 27th to Friday, January 29th, work will focus on prepping the Kendrick pier footing. Demolition of the existing Kendrick Street bridge deck will continue from Monday, January 25th to Thursday, January 28st during the third shifts.
- At K1, work will consist of installing underdrainage and overhang brackets.
- During both the day and third shifts throughout the week, work at Central Avenue will focus on pouring the Central Avenue arch.
- Work at Route 9 will focus on H-pile installation throughout the week during the day shifts. Demolition of the eastern side of Route 128/I-95 over Route 9 (northbound towards Washington Street) will continue throughout the week during the day shifts.
During the demolition operations at Kendrick Street and Route 128/I-95 over Route 9, BHD will be taking lane closures. Lane closures are permitted and are necessary to create a safe work zone; drivers are asked to be aware of possible lane closures for their own safety and that of the project team. Please also note that all work is contingent upon the weather.
