Throughout the week of July 18th, 2016, Barletta Heavy Division (BHD), MassDOT’s contractor for the Route 128 Add-a-Lane Bridge V project, will continue construction operations. Work will be performed project-wide during the standard working hours of 7:00AM to 3:00PM.
The week of the 18th also includes third shift work between the hours of 7:00PM and 5:00AM on Route 9 and at the I-95 Mainline.
At Kendrick Street operations will include installation of wall, noise wall panels, miscellaneous metals and railing will occur. Traffic equipment will be terminated and tested throughout the week as well.
At Highland Avenue, Verizon will install and connect new lines as will Comcast and Siena, and full depth pavement construction for the Highland Avenue shift will occur. Work will also include the installation of northbound timber piles.
At Central Avenue and the Railroad Bridge, work will consist of backfill and removal of lagging.
At Route 9, full depth construction of ramp W2 (I-95 Northbound to Route 9 Westbound), and installation of walls, noise wall posts, moment slabs, and structural steel will occur. National Grid will be relocating gas lines during day and night work hours throughout the week.
On the I-95 mainline, installation of overhead sign foundations South of Kendrick Street will occur throughout the week. Night work will consist of installation of drainage crossings Monday through Thursday (July 18th through 21st).
BHD will be closing lanes during off-peak hours to continue construction of all bridges. Lane closures are permitted and are necessary to create a safe work zone; drivers are asked to be aware of possible lane closures for their own safety and that of the project team.
