Throughout the week of April 4th, 2016, Barletta Heavy Division (BHD), MassDOT’s contractor for the Route 128 Add-a-Lane Bridge V project, will continue construction operations. Work will be performed project-wide during the standard working hours of 7:00AM to 3:00PM.
The week of the 4th also includes third shift work during the hours of 7:00PM and 5:00AM at Kendrick Street and Highland Avenue. Night work at Kendrick Street is anticipated to conclude on April 16th.
- At Kendrick Street, work will continue on the new bridge and on/off ramps, focusing on the construction of the retaining walls and bridge deck. Third shift work will take place at Kendrick Street from Monday, April 4th to Thursday, Aril 7th, focusing on installing lagging and erecting structural steel.
- Throughout the week at Highland Avenue, work will focus on relocating utilities. During the third shifts on Monday, April 4th and Tuesday, April 5th, work will be conducted to install the barrier along the Highland Avenue median.
- At Central Avenue, work will consist of bracing and pouring the arch for the 128/I-95 bridge over Central Avenue.
- At Route 9, wall installation and the installation of MSE (mechanically stabilized earth) wall panels will continue. Work will also include the installation of drilled shafts and piles.
BHD will be closing lanes during off-peak hours to continue construction of all bridges. Lane closures are permitted and are necessary to create a safe work zone; drivers are asked to be aware of possible lane closures for their own safety and that of the project team. Please also note that all work is contingent upon the weather.
