Week of November 16th, 2015 Throughout the week of November 16, 2015, Barletta Heavy Division (BHD), MassDOT’s contractor for the Route 128 Add-a-Lane Bridge V project, will continue construction operations. Day shift work will be performed project-wide during both the standard working hours of 7:00AM to 3:00PM and during the third shift work hours of 7:00PM to 5:00AM.
At Kendrick Street, work will focus on installing fencing and the Rail Road barrier along Kendrick Street. Work on the retaining walls will include excavation, and forming and pouring the walls and leveling pads. During both day and third shifts on Monday, November 16 and Saturday, November 21, work will focus on striping Kendrick Street. The Kendrick Street traffic shift will occur on Saturday, November 21. During this time, Kendrick Street eastbound (towards Newton) will be closed. Detour signage will be provided.
At K1, work will focus on forming and installing walls, barriers and moment slabs. Work on Central Avenue will focus on forming, pouring and stripping walls.
The ramp from Highland Avenue westbound onto 128 southbound will be opened to traffic on Monday, November 16. Work on Highland Avenue will include installing noise wall posts from Highland Avenue to Kendrick Street and installing structural steel. Along Route 9, construction of the north abutment embankment and support of excavation (SOE) installation will take place. During the day and third shift on Monday, November 16, work will focus on setting up the Route 9 work zone. Throughout the week during the day and third shifts, the Rail Road barrier will be installed.
Along the mainline during the third shifts throughout the week, drainage crossings will be established.
