Throughout the week of February 1st, 2016, Barletta Heavy Division (BHD), MassDOT’s contractor for the Route 128 Add-a-Lane Bridge V project, will continue construction operations. Day shift work will be performed project-wide during both the standard working hours of 7:00AM to 3:00PM and during the third shift work hours of 7:00PM to 5:00AM.
- At Kendrick Street, work during the day will consist of installing retaining walls, and forming and reinforcing the west abutment footing. Work will also include forming, reinforcing and pouring the Kendrick pier. Demolition of the existing Kendrick Street east abutment will continue from Monday, February 1st to Thursday, February 4th during the third shifts.
- At the K1 Ramp, work will consist of installing underdrainage and overhang brackets.
- Work at Route 9 will focus on H-pile and wall leveling pad installation. Demolition of the eastern side of Route 128/I-95 over Route 9 (northbound towards Washington Street) will continue throughout the week during the day shifts.
During the demolition operations at Kendrick Street and Route 128/I-95 over Route 9, BHD will be taking lane closures. Lane closures are permitted and are necessary to create a safe work zone; drivers are asked to be aware of possible lane closures for their own safety and that of the project team. Please also note that all work is contingent upon the weather.
