At Kendrick Street, work will consist of excavating, forming and pouring wall leveling pads during the day shifts. During the third shifts, work will focus on installing lagging for demolition.
At K1, work will be conducted during the day shifts to install structural steel and diaphragms. On Monday, November 30, work will focus on damp-proofing the gravity wall. From Tuesday, December 1 to Friday, December 4, work will consist of backfilling at the gravity wall and the K1 south abutment.
At Highland Avenue, work will be conducted during the day to install noise wall posts. During both the day and third shifts, work will consist of the installation of overhang brackets and edge forms, the installation of lagging, and the installation of utilities.
At Central Avenue, work will focus on stripping the median walls. At Route 9, work will be conducted to install support of excavation (SOE) piles and install drainage.
On the mainline, work will focus on the installation of drainage in the median south of Kendrick Street. During the third shift, work on the mainline will also consist of implementing drainage crossings as necessary.
On Monday, November 30, clearing and grubbing will begin along I-95 northbound adjacent to Reservoir Street, Reservoir Avenue, and Carter Street. This work is required in preparation for the installation of noise walls between Central Avenue and Route 9. Please note that machinery will need to utilize the current MassDOT easement along the rear of the abutters’ yards to access the work.
